How can I play in the Beantown Summer Classic?
Our scouts begin their selection process at the beginning of each
season after Labor Day and continue through the end of the season,
as well as Spring/Summer tournaments. Names are then submitted for
invitations throughout the course of a few months prior to the Beantown
Summer Classic. However, there are tryout opportunities for both divisions
for the Beantown Summer Classic. Interested players can submit their
interest and general information to the Beantown Classic general email
at info@beantownclassic.com
. Your information and interest will then be forwarded to the scouts.
Are their tryouts for the Beantown Spring Classic?
Yes! There are tryouts for the Pro and Future's Divisions. The tryout schedule can
be found on our website at www.beantownclassic.com.
How do I sign up for tryouts?

Can I sign up for tryouts at the door?
We do accept applications at the door but if a session is full we
would not be able to guarantee a tryout spot.
Do your tryout sessions fill up?
Yes. Goalie spots especially fill up quickly. That is why it is important
to submit your application as soon as possible to guarantee a spot.
How many players are picked from tryouts?
One complete team is picked from tryouts for the Draft Division and
all teams are chosen for the Future's Division.
How are we notified of making the tournament from
tryouts?
For those tryouts that are held at least one month prior to the tournament
you will receive notification via mail. For those tryout sessions
the weekend before the tournament those players who have made it into
the tournament will have their names posted on the website at www.beantownclassic.com.

Who coaches the teams?
A current NHL scout coaches each team.
How are the divisions separated?
The divisions are age-based. Currently the Pro Division are players
with '89-'92 birth years, the Future's Division are '92-'94 birth
years and the Prospect's Divisions which are '94-'95 and '96-'97. Girls Divison will be liglable for all Girls playing in High School the
following fall.
How many teams are chosen?
There are eight teams for the Pro Division, six for the Future's Division, two teams at both age groups in the Prospect's Division
and six for the Girls Divsion.
How many players are on each team?
10 Forwards, 6 Defenseman, 2 Goalies
How many games are played?
Pro Division players will have a practice, then play four Pro
Divsion games with playoffs and Future's Division players will play three games with playoffs. Prospect's will play three games while the Girls will play a minimum of four games.
How long are the games?
The games consist of two 25 minute periods.
What do I do if I am invited?
There are two options:
1. If you plan on attending your paperwork (Player
Profile) and payment must be received as soon as possible to hold
your spot. You may mail it to:

2. If you are unable to attend you must notify the office at 508.820.1600

in order for other players to have an opportunity to play.
If I am unable to attend will I still have an opportunity
to be invited again?
Yes. We understand there can be personal conflicts that may hinder
a player from coming to the Classic.
If I notice on the schedule that I could play but
only if I am on a specific team is it possible to be on that schedule
in order for me to attend?
Although we can not promise that we can accommodate everyone's request.
If a request is put in early enough we make every attempt possible
to help you participate in the Classic.
Will the schedule change?
We make every attempt not to make changes to the schedule, however
sometimes things happen that are out of our control and changes are
made. It is important to monitor the website at www.beantownclassic.com
for updates. We will send emails as well. Please be sure your email
address is legible in order to receive these important updates.
Are jersey's provided?
Jersey's for the Beantown Summer are provided to the player for the
weekend. The jerseys are returned at the end of the tournament. If
a player does not return their jersey they will be charged $125 for
the jersey.
How do the scouts know my number and information
once I am at the Beantown Spring Classic?
Your information from your Player Profile is used in the Beantown
program along with the team and jersey number assigned to you. Please
be sure to complete your Player Profile in order to have your most
up to date information for the scouts.
What if there is an error in the program and/or
the number on my jersey?
When you register your jersey given to you will be compared to the
information in the program. If there are any discrepancies, a memo
is given to all the scouts with the accurate information.
What do I do when I get to the Beantown Summer Classic?
You will first register and check in. You will then receive your jersey
and socks. Some time during the check in process you will be provided
a NHL questionnaire to be completed and returned to the NHL's central
scouting scout when the weigh-ins are done. Specific information will
be given to you at the registration desk. Picture instructions will
also be provided at the desk.
*PLEASE NOTE: You will only be able to participate and receive
your jersey if you have paid in full.
Is there a fee for admission?
Yes. Pricing may vary but weekend and daily passes are available at
the registration desk.
Are there many scouts that attend? And where are
they from?
Over 150 scouts attend the Beantown Summer Classic. The scouts come
from Midget, Juniors (EJHL, USHL and Major Junior), Div 1 and 3 colleges,
and every NHL team.
